As it stands, Pakistan needs to win the 4th ODI to stay in the series. After a great start in the 3rd one day international, Pakistan failed to capitalize on the chance. Therefore, South Africa were able to post a mammoth score of 343. The middle order failed to stabilize the situation and the game was lost there and then. Shahid Afridi's brilliant knock of 88 provided a ray of hope but Pakistan had lost too many wickets to chase it.

Youth in Pakistan

Youth in Pakistan

Pakistan is a developing country and youth in Pakistan makes up about 35% of it's total population. In the midst of crunching times, when Pakistan is facing severe issues such as terrorism, economic crisis, target killings, disunity and disunity, the burden to take the country out of the whirlpool is upon it's young people.

Pakistani Youth’s Role in Development

The Pakistani Youth has stepped on a train named as destiny that takes its passengers on the path towards development. Since the establishment of Pakistan, youth had always been crushed and oppressed by teachers, leaders and parents. Moreover the role of youth in politics has always been limited due to corrupt and inept political system. They failed to get exposed to the world that could lead to a new era of modernization. As the clock ticked and time flew, things started to change their discourse. The new century brought about much advancement along with the change in trends of Pakistani youth.

Problems of Youth in Pakistan:

Alongside the changing trends in 21st century, problems of Pakistani youth have started to dwindle. The world is a continuous process of change and so it brings with it distinctive features in which modernization in youth plays huge importance. As globalization took place, it became harder for teachers, leaders and parents to further hold back youth in homes. These students found their way to their demands. The supply had always been short but this time these young Pakistanis created their own demand and became their own suppliers. They have started to negate the old irrational conventions that have been down streaming their lives. Through the use of media, internet and self right realization; these rising humans instilled with great zeal and zest have found a common point where they could lead their lives with cultural and contemporary trends.

Youth protest by Kashmiri youth against India. Problems of Pakistani Youth

Talented Pakistani Youth

Talented Pakistani youth has started to bring in more innovation and novel ideas than a matured one. The science has lead older people to understand that after living a life of forty years and above, the brain is less able to produce something new and revolutionary. Now we see the youth working in across Pakistan in almost all the fields currently working. From education to films to arts to medicine to engineering to politics; you would not find a place where these young talented people are not functioning. Every day they bring in new ideas such as Street Art Competitions, Sports events, Debates, magazines, public relations and the list goes on.

Power to Speak

A new trend has started to emerge in Pakistani youth i.e. the power to speak. About a decade ago, young people were not allowed to raise their voices against elders. Even if the elders were completely irrational about a certain situation or subject, youth was not allowed to interfere in it. An orthodox behavior was being followed by the elders that was “Old people have a lot of experience and so they speak keeping in mind everything they have learnt from it but young people are careless and innocent. They do not understand the realities of life”. But now these people have started to realize that not all their experiences are applicable in the contemporary world of fast choices. These people realize that they are not the one’s getting exposed to new knowledge everyday; it is the youth who is thirsty for knowledge and who can actually understand the world with a different dimension.

Optimism of Youth in Pakistan:

Optimism is an intriguing step that the youth in Pakistan has recently adopted. They have seen their families and relatives living lives in depression and so dying a painful death. They have seen people regretting what they did and sticking to the negative side of the situation and eventually falling into a dig of wasted wishes. Pakistani youth has now chosen a path of positivism. This way they can mould, innovate and produce whatever they think is best. They are currently striving for the betterment and progress of country. They are not self centered rather they have adapted ways which would make the people of Pakistan unite and bring about change as a whole.

Voice of Youth

voices of youth

I have been sitting here for a while listening to all those voices of youth. To feel what you have, you need to forget what you had. Concepts are intellectual. No one is born to be so. People sit on a porch to learn and throw. Nothing is confusing, you are. Life compels you to form images. What you speak is not your tongue but your society. You creep, you crawl, and you walk and run. Is there anything else to do in this family of indifferent relations? If not, then there is yet to begin another stance of local characters (Pakistani Youth) to trigger the features bound to relish the last sip of tea.

Gang Rape in India: 23 year old woman dies

Gang Rape in India

A 23 year old woman was gang rapped in India. She was being treated in Singapore hospital but lost her last breath when the agony stretched beyond the edge. The doctor said that she tried very hard to fight against the pain she was suffering but the trauma exceeded the limit. At the time of her death, her whole family was there. Authorities have not released the information regarding the victim but it has been told that the woman’s family is Hindu and they belong to New Delhi.
Women and her companion were abused and robbed on bus December 16. Robbers stole all their belongings and dumped them at a road side. Police has arrested six suspects including the bus driver and a minor. The male companion was quickly discharged from the hospital as he did not face any severe injuries.
According to the Police, she had recovered from injuries to the level at which she could give a statement to magistrate. But on the next day, doctors did another surgery to remove all the infections on her abdomen.

Youth Movements against Gang Rape in India

Youth of India has started protests all over the country. They are raging in number and call for mandatory actions to ensure that people involved in this incident must be punished. They also stand for a reason that Indian society must provide women with privilege of freedom and equality so that no more women are abused, assaulted, harassed, rapped or wrongly treated on the basis of gender
The death of this young women laments out the helpless situation of the people. This incident greatly affected the image of India throughout the globe. Regardless of the inflating economy, India still pursues the back stabbing, history prevalent, narrow minded dominance over the so called contemporary people of big cities.

Indian culture in Pakistan - Cultural Blues

While searching for my discussion topic which talked about the cultural invasion of Pakistan by India, I was not very impressed by the material present on the internet.  There was one perspective that talked about increasing globalization and there was another point of view stating that yes we are invaded by the Indian media from every corner etc.

I appreciate good music, fashion trends and fine entertainment even if its coming from across the borders and so do a lot of people who know how to distinguish between what is wrong and right.

We ridicule our Lollywood actresses be it Veena malik , Meera or singers who have gone across borders to earn a livelihood and get some  recognition of their own.  Unless Pakistan does not officially send these people , they are not representing our country.  They have their identity of their own. But we as a nation believe that if our star achieves something amazing  we like to take all the credit and when he does something not acceptable to us we refuse to even acknowledge the fact that they  were once part of us. Not forgetting random people asking Pakistani government to ban these people from coming to the country? Really? Why?  If you ask these people, they bring the religion in between.   Why doesn't religion come between in discussion when there is talk about corrupt leaders or political instability, or when there are acid attacks on our women? Why does religion only come in the discussion when the entertainment industry is discussed?

Pakistani youth is strong and we have a Voice. We are educated and We know what we want in our lives. No nation is invading any other country.  Media is a free.  Pakistan drama industry is booming and so is the theater  I know a lot of my friends who are part of the theatrical scene in Pakistan and some of them are aspiring directors.  Today a Pakistani believes that if its own product will be upto the standard there is no way any other country can culturally invade us. Thanks to Humsafar – a massive achievement which made every Pakistani believe that our stuff is all quality.

Punjab Assembly Website hacked by Bangladeshi Hacker

Punjab Assembly Official Website Hacked

Bangladeshi hacker defaced Punjab Assembly's official website (http://www.pap.gov.pk) today. Although thousands of websites are hacked daily but it is considered a rare event when a government site is hacked.  The alias used by hacker is HackeD By Cr4ck-Br4iN - RoTating RoTor - Ablaze EVER.

The hacker has left the message on the website to track the identity of the Pakistani cyber terrorist Shadow 008 who has been allegedly involved in hacking some of Bangladeshi websites. Moreover, the hackers have warned that if FIA does not take action against Shadow008, they would continue to deface other government websites.

Screenshot:
Bangladeshi hackers hacked the Punjab Assembly official government website on 9th december 2012

Message Left by Bangladeshi Hackers

The original message left on the website reads:

"This Is PayBak To Shadow008 For Hacking Our Bangladeshi Sites!

It was proved earlier that,FIA was unable to arrest this cyber criminal. This criminal was responsible for the defacement of www.google.com.pk Pressurize your law enforcement agency to make this criminal busted and let us live in peace and also let us leave u in peace"

Restoration and Re-hacking of Punjab Assembly website

The website was restored by the website's technical department but moments later another cyber attack, this time from Pakistani hackers defaced the website again. The message was for Bengali hackers not to mess with the Pakistani ones. It has become a playground for the hacking community and the government is playing a role of second fiddle at the moment.

Recently Google Pakistan was hacked which prompted Google to tighten up the security around their servers. Moreover, Pakistani visitors were automatically redirected to google.com.pk before the hacking took place, but since then the redirection has been abandoned by Google which has affected a lot of Pakistani webmasters. Note: If you have ever had your system hacked or such a problem has ever arisen, you can read the guide on how to get rid and solve your problems.

Google Pakistan Hacked!

Google.com.pk Hacked

Goggle Pakistan was hacked today. The page was transformed and emerged into a view that was quite different.  The logo and the search bar were not appearing in the usual way. Google had been despoiled and taken under control by unknown hackers.
The despoiled web page emerged and appeared only on the Pakistan’s web page of Google. Initially people trying to access Google Pakistan were redirected to this portal but as for now, the search is being done on international page i.e www.google.com. The logo and search bar were hacked and the page displayed two penguins walking on a bridge. The page exhibited a message saying.
“Eboz of a friend always there for me My homies have not shot by me with every breath”
google.com.pk hacked by turkish hackers

The message seem to written by some Turkish fellow after translating it through Google translator. There was another distinguishing line that draws the focus i.e. “Downed Pakistan”. It may have been written to spread the confirmation that this web page has been taken down.
The hackers stated another surprising line at the bottom of the page that is read after translation as
“Hello friends who are still alive, not dead!”. The message depicts the negative perception of Pakistan in today's world media. For the past few hours, the webservice has been take down and it's still unknown whether Google has been able to take control of the geographic targeting based search engine.

Other reports indicate that a total of 248 Pakistani websites have been hacked by the same Turkish hacker today which includes Microsoft's portal for Pakistani audience.

21st Century

Start of Universe:

From the start of universe to 21st Century, no one has ever been able to completely understand the concepts that alter our surroundings. Time has always been constant, so how come the people and their attitudes change. The magnificent change in living standards and cultural trends may seem to play an important role but which variables cause transformation in these conventions and living styles. Is it language, technology, or any other multidimensional aspect of earth? To analyse this, the concept "Everything is Possible" should be taken into consideration.

Myth of time

I have been throughout the ages,
Saw no one there,
It’s like man’s no land,
But some pictures of their hair,
When I used to go beyond the stone,
I found the wall,
It stayed there; lied there,
Walked through the door,
But I knew I was exposed,
And the choices that I made,
They were flying on the road,
With their faces towards the shore,
A consented dissent it may be,
I do not know

Myth of time

In all the happenings, myth of time was thought to initiate in triggered fame of cold winters. In an hour of bliss, its mind set off to do something, yet the distance between the mind and soul began to organize another uplift of sea. Why subjugate a civilization when you could effortlessly incorporate your nature in theirs. Now life is a tricky part but not for an evil mocker. People are always there to brag, but he never listened to any of ever existing entities of helpless rhyme. He used to hunt anecdotes keeping minimal distance from fragile authorities. He started to build an empire with towers of trust when people’s lives had turned into calamities.
While some people get astonished by the acts of parental disobedience, other dither in ways of civil obedience.
“Perform those actions that persist to be so. A man is no good without his duck”.

Learn an Art

One must not learn an art to be an artist but give art a chance to learn you. Think not what society inclines you too think, rather stray from the path of virtue to live in the world of nature. Configure your actions. As one day, the same deed may conquer your soul. Alas! You have decided to perish those who do not seem to prosper and challenge those who strangle your path of amazement. Vanquish in a tread that crawls down into the manifestation of human imagination. Only then you may find immortality. Because invisible people never exist. And what does not exist inculcates itself into history. This indeed becomes a myth, exploited by the upper class to maintain their status. And it is the myth (myth of time) which proved to be the true variable causing transformations in societies throughout the world.

Everything is Possible

"Everything is Possible"?

After witnessing turmoil instigated by subtle gestures, one would conclude everything is possible. The concept of start and end has been instilled in the human mind for ages. It is now difficult to imagine a situation or happening without a beginning and finish point. Regardless of what constitutes our life, language limits our imagination to worldly characters and ideas.
Is everything possible?

What aspects should be discussed?

This idea “Everything is possible” is quite old but at the same click novel. It is just who is exposed to it and who is not. For example, if you talk about this concept to an intellectual person, it may seem to be something coming down for ages. But if the same notion is brought to an illiterate person, the consequences would differ drastically. I am not going to tease you with the old, conventional examples by every other individual and which could be easily refuted. These actions only play their role due to lack of education. This time the idea is going to be applied in every phase and every aspect of world.

Everything is possible and the concept of GOD

I was having a discussion on this topic with my friends a couple of weeks ago. The idea was to be discussed in every dimension i.e. from psychology to physiology to philosophy. One question lead the whole discussion, “If everything is possible, then is it possible that the God may not exist and it is also possible He may exist”. It is very easy to put forth an argument but extremely difficult to apply it to your own self. This statement started to question every one’s beliefs. The religious as well as non religious people could get offended. The thought of it made every one act like fools. Two statements that cross question this question were “If everything is possible then it is also possible that everything is not possible” and “For any impossible thing to happen it must be possible”. The examples continued but on the basis of these three statements. Like if everything is possible then it is quite possible that we are just an imagination or an illusion of an entity sitting somewhere else in the world. The questions were so vast and manipulative in their own sense that they lead to unconventional dimensions of thoughts.

Bounded Rationality

We had to find a common point. It was created by bounded rationality. As humans we should accept that it is beyond our reach to entail everything. As the human mind is capable of absorbing immense quantities of information, the hard drive of this system is not infinite. Once this was cleared, we started to understand the concept of limitation. We limited the application of concept to certain things and phenomena. Because if there was no limit to it, just the thought of this idea cause chaos in eco system. All the beliefs were set a part relating to personal self.

The Last question pertaining “Everything is Possible”

We were about to get up and go back home when one of friends asked another question. He said, “If everything is possible, is it possible to go back in time or visit our future?” Now the question was not out of the box because the rule of limitation could not be applied here. We were so held back by even the sense of very scheme, that every one experienced silence for some time. From there initiated another question, “Is time only associated with this world or it rules everywhere?” The answer to this question would prove decisive in finding a solution to previous statement. Guess what, two of were in favor of time being a constant entity while on the other two were commencing on it is an ongoing process.
After a while, I felt a tinge on my shoulder and woke up by the sound of fresh laughter that gagged the realm of my dreams. As an orthodox behavior, I should have hanged those who played a role in deteriorating my only secluded imagination. When I started to compile all evaded sources of these remarkable measures; only one strikes in the set path of sleep. To understand this massacre of long lasting night and day journey, you must entitle yourself as an audience of seldom zone. When you start to hear the sound of clock, kindly open your seat belts and scuttle in lilting mode to set the precedence for the antecedents of your own life. These were the words I could hear from my brain. It was a remarkable experience. It found a solution to the answer of my dream character i.e. “Anything and everything is possible only if one considers it to be” It is our marvelous mind that presents the upcoming illusions in a way that make us believe we were right.

Everything is possible
Everything is denied
You do not exist
You are justified

Role of Youth in Pakistani Politics

Role of Youth in Pakistani Politics

Pakistani Youth and Politics

Overview of role of Pakistani youth in Politics

If we look at the history of Pakistani politics it has always been dominated by few families and dictators. Common man has suffered at the hands of aristocrats, and among those common men live the young men and women, who are spoken highly of! The history tells us that political parties have always used the the youth to achieve their political targets but looking at the bigger picture, the role of youth in Pakistani politics has always been limited. Never has the true democracy be at the helm thanks to corrupt and substandard political infra-structure. Men with money, or shall we say, the big players have always dominated the political playground.
Amid all the hypocrisy, the youth has always been used as political horses. The “Kings” have used the horses to well effect but never have they empowered the resilient armed men! Like pawns in a chess game, the kings have used the youth to its benefit but never let it express itself. Sighs!
In recent times, a hope arose in the shape of Youth Parliament. It created optimism, a fresh wave of breath. Young intellectuals were given importance, and it seemed finally Pakistan was on the verge of revolution. An in-house revolution, that would change the face of Pakistan on the political front. But the house never realized its potential. It was suppressed under the might of the wealthy parliamentarians.

Pakistani Youth and Politics

Quaid-e-Azam's vision of Pakistan

Quaid-e-Azam saw youth as a major asset for the newly created state i.e. Pakistan and repeatedly emphasized the role of youth in Pakistani politics. He believed, youth was vital ingredient to take the country forward. His sayings reflect that he saw the young men and women as the leaders of the future.
“Pakistan is proud of her youth, particularly the students who have always been in the forefront in the hour of trial and need. You are the nation’s leaders of tomorrow and you must fully equip yourself by discipline, education and training for the arduous task lying ahead of you. You should realise the magnitude of your responsibility and be ready to bear it.” – Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
In the light of his saying, it is a fair assessment that he had a different vision of Pakistan in comparison with what the country has become. He clearly suggested that youth of Pakistan were to be regarded as a major asset. Our current political system is not only sabotaged by the so called “54 families”, but there is not much hope that the current situation would change in the near future. An allocation of 1.6% of total GDP is a testimony of that! We highlighted the major flaws in the education system of Pakistan, which need immediate addressing! It is critical that the aristocrats of the nation understand the critical need to improve the current political and education situation at federal, provincial, and local levels. It is perhaps the only escape route available to move away from the current economic, socio-cultural, and political crisis.
Despite the troublesome situation,  there has emerged another ray of hope, the ember had never died. The elections are not far away and every party has started their election campaign. While the only pleasant change in their campaigns this time around is that all the political parties have realized the importance of youth.  The political power-houses are targeting them on a very serious note. Imran Khan has been back-rolling his election campaign on the base of youth favored policy and he has to be credited for his policies and thinking differently. Now is the time for youth to take the responsibility and play their role to change the conventional political system in Pakistan. So if we want to bring true revolution in Pakistan then our youth needs to participate and try hard to change this system. We hope that it's a start of a new era! A better era!

Vani: Child Marriages in Pakistan

What is Vani?

Vani is a form of Child marriage that is practiced in rural areas of Pakistan. It is one of the ancient customs of Pakistan that involves the marriage of one family's daughter to another family's son. If the other family does not have any son, then the daughter is married with an elder usually the head of the family. It is considered to be the peaceful agreement among two parties.  The custom takes place when a male or female member of the family commits a crime or deviates from tribe’s norms. The final decision is taken by the leader of tribe (Chaudary).

Custom of Vani in Pakistan

In the world today, as the earth begins to tremble into the light of development, some of the areas still persist to hour of ignorance. Pakistan faces huge financial losses but at the same time a lot of development in the form of infrastructure contradicts the results. Since Pakistan’s existence, no noticeable positive changes have taken place in Pakistani culture. People live and die listening to epic stories. Their first breadth starts with an irrational action followed by the back stabbing traditions of their forefathers. The count of these irrational ancient customs such as Vani is endless. These individuals do not even recognize their own identity before they choose to sacrifice their soul for the very people who claimed to have been the heroes of their society.

Although, the custom is illegal in Pakistan, it is still practiced in tribal areas of Punjab and Sindh among other ethnic groups of Pakistan. It is deemed as a form of conflict resolution amongst families, yet no one pays any attention to the lives of young innocent girls who had not yet fully grown up to understand the realities of life. A young girl is traded for the mistakes, crimes and sins of their other family members. Whole her lives, she would have to live with a groom and his family, who would never love or respect her. These oppressions create depressions leading to colossal psychological damages and traumas. I think, it is due to the flaws of education system in Pakistan that Vani is still carried out in this contemporary world. By the end of the day, education is a decisive factor for society’s social and psychological development.

Moral Obligation

As these things continue to run the final round, the illiterate people do not even know about the modern themes and civilizations. The old customs and traditions coming down from ancestors are being followed without thinking about their consequences. The dominance of masculine over feminine has always been a global issue but in Pakistan it has proliferated not obliterated. The brutality of men on their women and the manipulation in the lives of girls create a sense of restlessness in the nation.

There are diverse customs and norms which deviate from the set path of ethical and moral society. The nation is yet to know about the reality of these backward areas as no nation could prosper and progress when its people are tied up in these small yet life changing decisions. As the time goes by, the ray of hope starts to fade away. It’s time to root out the cruelty of men over their women from our society. The time has come when we should stand against barren, sterile and evil customs of Pakistan like Vani / child marriage for the sake of privileging our women with freedom of choice, thought and opinion.
