With the arrival of technologies each day, man is constantly in a phase of change. Upgrading, adapting and adopting various gadgets, scientific methods and social changes are part of the 21st century. New inventions and technologies are introduced by the young, fresh minds of today, who have the drive to excel. Their urge to come up with something better than their predecessors helps them visualize their dreams.
It is evident to notice that with the new generation, different hidden talents are being explored. The youth of today grapples in every possible field they can to outdo one another. To make their names appear in the pages of history. Some years back, when the IT industry was introduced, many young scholars chose it to be their career. Was it out of interest or just to make a better living is a question which can only be answered by themselves. The introduction and later, the emphasis laid upon this subject made it spread like virus. One such example is of Arfa Karim, the youngest Microsoft Professional, who attained this title at a very young age. After the IT and the computer technology became common amongst the masses, the youth took to other areas.
One such area of arts which has remained to the hearts and souls of people; especially the youth is music. Shakespeare rightly wrote; music is like food for the soul. Passionate listeners are witnessed at concerts each day. The number of the fans is also increasing day by day. Many vocalists, pianists and guitarists are mentors of today’s youth. Their style, their genre, their specific talent is what is imitated and later owned up as their own forte.
Special classes are given by inspirational and renowned artists to inculcate the love for music in the youth. Many TV programs are dedicated in this regard and they are actually promoting young talent by making them compete in nationwide competitions. In doing so, the media is really playing their part in guiding the youngsters in following their dreams, channelizing their talent and putting it to right use.
On the other hand, another field where the youth has and is excelling is the sports arena. With the adrenaline rush in their blood, youngsters from ages 8 and above are seen spending hours and hours in the scorching heat either playing cricket or football. The fervent followers play so religiously that they make it to the mainstream teams. Such enthusiasm and adoration is fuelling the youth and helping them live the American dream. Furthermore, academies should be established to cater students from all class strata’s, so that no talent walks away unrecognized.
However, the most important factor involved in promoting youth’s talent is encouragement. This one words encapsulates the entire phenomena. Encouragement starts from home. Coming from the parents first and then from the teachers. The role of these guardians is vital in any adolescents/ teenagers life. Their reassurance reinforces confidence and the motivation to excel. If the mentors genuinely help the youth of today, they can surely reach for the stars. Therefore, for the youth’s talent recognition, the gurus and counselors should go beyond themselves and help the youth, the future of tomorrow in any way they can. Talent of any sort should be recognized and promoted not only for the outwardly change ,but also for inner bliss.
