The Chief Minister has approved a new 100MW power plant which would produce cheap electricity for the public. Chief Minister has directed the local government secretary to file the final recommendations so that the work can start immediately on Quaid-e-Azam Solar energy park . Although some portions of the media has questioned "Why solar energy?", the move has generally been taken positively by the mass portions of the media.
As per the new energy policy that was announced in July, one of the major initiatives the PML N government has taken is to solve the energy crisis.
The major solar energy companies were consulted and the 2 projects would add to the electricity production capacity of Pakistan. The estimated completion time is 2-3 years and it would also help to reduce the electricity tariff rates which have jumped to Rs.14 per unit.
Apart from that, with the corporation of Asian Development Bank, coal based projects have also begun in Jamshoro.
All these transactions have to be carried out with the solar energy companies transparently. The sooner the solar projects are completed, the more relief the public would gain.
