Top Story: Rowan Atkinson a.k.a Mr. Bean Accepts Islam (Truth or Hoax?)

Mr. Bean accepts Islam
The latest news from Britain is that the king of silent comedy Rowan Atkinson - Mr Bean has accepted Islam and announced his conversion to his fellow friends and acquaintances. Although, the news has spread like fire on social networking sites and other web 2.0 sites, no authentic source has yet confirmed whether Rowan Atkinson a.k.a Mr. Bean has converted to Islam or not.

Rumor or Truth?:The social media outlets and Islamic news networks received huge amount of traffic after the news broke a day ago. Although, neither Rowan Atkinson nor any of his representatives have confirmed or denied the reports, but analyzing the source of the reports, it sounds more like a hoax.
In the past, many of such rumors were later denied by the involved parties. There are rumors that Michael Jackson died a Muslim but it is still in the air whether he converted to Islam or not.
Some of the Israeli and other Jewish publication websites have mocked the yet-to-be-verified news. The underlying statement is, Neither Mr. Bean nor any of his representatives have commented on it, and until and unless he confirms his conversion to Islam, there is absolutely no reason to believe this rumor. Made up stories appear on the web every second and the world just follows them blindly!

The Origins of Computer Generated Content: Director's View Point

Computer Generated Content (CGC) or Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) is the application of the field of computer graphics; specifically 3D computer graphics to create special effects in areas such as film, video games and simulators. These visual scenes may be dynamic or static.

The technology was introduced in the early 1960’s. Computer Generated Content began as Fragmentation Animation. Tthe film known as Hummingbird is among one of the first to be made using CGI. Hummingbird gained fame when it was viewed at the fourth International Experimental Film Competition in Brussels, Belgium. This “Fragmentation Animation” which is the deformation and reformations of an object in a computer generated space - was an important step for CGI in films because with it came the birth of an entirely new technology for use in the film industry (Fragmentation Animations, 2007).
The visual scenes may be dynamic or static, and may be 2D, though the term "CGI" is most commonly used to refer to 3D computer graphics used for creating scenes or special effects in films and television.

Early films that used Computer Generated Content

One of the earliest movies that used Computer generated content was Star Wars. It was released in 1977 and took the world by storm. The technology was used to trench run briefing sequence. The other films in the early era that were renowned for CGC include Alien (1979), Dire Straits (1985), Lybrinth (1986), and Start Trek IV (1986)
In the modern era some CGC films that have caught the eye include Titanic, Toty Story, The Matrix triology, Spider Man, and Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Directors who feel use of CGC is not necessary
Although CGC has become an important component of the film industry but some directors have been somewhat very restricted towards the use of it. For instance Martin Scorcesse has not been the greatest admirer of CGC in films and openly shared his opinion on it for the best part of 20 years. Although, it seems like his views have changed as Hugo, one of his latest fims Hugo heavily used computer generated content. Clint Eastwood also shared negative views on using computer generated imagery and techniques in films since it took the authenticity and human element out of the film. Christopher Nolan is another director who is not a great admirer of using CGI or CGC. In one of the interview, he said "The thing with computer-generated imagery is that it’s an incredibly powerful tool for making better visual effects. But I believe in an absolute difference between animation and photography. However sophisticated your computer-generated imagery is, if it’s been created from no physical elements and you haven’t shot anything, it’s going to feel like animation. There are usually two different goals in a visual effects movie. One is to fool the audience into seeing something seamless, and that’s how I try to use it. The other is to impress the audience with the amount of money spent on the spectacle of the visual effect, and that, I have no interest in."

Heights n Delights - Best roof top restaurant in Lahore

Heights n’ Delights

My initial plan for the weekend just gone by involved lots of sleep and the completion of a book I had started when the heat-wave across the country was still in its betimes. All of this changed when a friend of mine invited me to the pre-opening of a restaurant his close friend had just set up. Not one to pass up any opportunity which presents itself with food, I took him up on his offer and am glad I did so.
Heights n Delights
Heights and Delights

Situated in the heart of the capital of the most thriving province (Punjab), the cultural behemoth and the overall second largest city in the country; Lahore, Height n' Delights is a restaurant which combines the Continental, Chinese and Barbecue dietaries for the service of the general public with the provision of a sanguine view of the Gaddafi Stadium floodlights and the meek sunset from its roof-top.

Walking up the recently furnished florid marble staircase, beside the New Prince Hall which holds the ground and first floor of the structure, a palpable air of enthusiasm flowed among my fellow diners. We, that is to say my friend and I, were escorted to our seats by a plump looking host who seemed as much pleased to receive us as if he had known us for ages. Not a second before we were seated in our chairs, which were surprisingly more comfortable than I had expected them to be, an eager eyed waiter stood attentively by with the menu. One look at it gave me the impression of a thorough background check on the owner's part, for the variety of dishes available catered to the needs of people of all ages; Malie Boti, Chicken Chilli Dry, Chicken Handi, Garlic Nan, Mint Margarita so on and so forth.

The set prices were moderate and more than a shade below the earth-shattering standards set by many of the local food-chains. I ordered chicken handi, chinese rice and a plate of tikka-botti. Hardly fifteen minutes later, the tantalizing aroma of fresh food filled my senses and I ate to my leisure. The service renders special commendation here, for our waiter was always at hand and always willing and efficient. As far as the food is concerned, I couldn't have had any qualms about it even if I had worn my spectacles to pick at the tiniest of details. Not a big fan of rice away from home, I'm glad I took the plunge this time around, for the chinese rice became one of my favorites in an instant. The tablecloth seemed neat and quaint and the glasses, dishes, knives and forks were all classy and well chosen. The whole ambience of the place exhibited a freshness and tranquility expected from a restaurant which had made its way up to the top after years of perseverance and consistent deliverance of quality. I congratulated my luck for having been seated so near the air conditioner but, a visit to the restroom assured me that the whole place was as uniformly air conditioned as can be hoped for, always a plus when looking for spots of refreshment in this part of the hemisphere. The décor was soft on the eyes and complimented well the artful slabs of the main wall.

Upon inquiry, I found that the indoor facility could hold up-to a hundred diners at a time, while the outdoor and roof-top ones could easily accommodate twenty-five and fifty people respectively, all at a time. I went up to the roof-top, which overlooked a major portion of the Metro Bus Service of Lahore, and was met with a serene overview of the beautiful city.

In retrospect, I would highly recommend anyone looking to appease their taste-buds to go and have a night out at Heights n' Delights. The timing is suitable at 6 PM to 2 AM and the food will leave you wanting more.

Indian culture in Pakistan - Cultural Blues

While searching for my discussion topic which talked about the cultural invasion of Pakistan by India, I was not very impressed by the material present on the internet.  There was one perspective that talked about increasing globalization and there was another point of view stating that yes we are invaded by the Indian media from every corner etc.

I appreciate good music, fashion trends and fine entertainment even if its coming from across the borders and so do a lot of people who know how to distinguish between what is wrong and right.

We ridicule our Lollywood actresses be it Veena malik , Meera or singers who have gone across borders to earn a livelihood and get some  recognition of their own.  Unless Pakistan does not officially send these people , they are not representing our country.  They have their identity of their own. But we as a nation believe that if our star achieves something amazing  we like to take all the credit and when he does something not acceptable to us we refuse to even acknowledge the fact that they  were once part of us. Not forgetting random people asking Pakistani government to ban these people from coming to the country? Really? Why?  If you ask these people, they bring the religion in between.   Why doesn't religion come between in discussion when there is talk about corrupt leaders or political instability, or when there are acid attacks on our women? Why does religion only come in the discussion when the entertainment industry is discussed?

Pakistani youth is strong and we have a Voice. We are educated and We know what we want in our lives. No nation is invading any other country.  Media is a free.  Pakistan drama industry is booming and so is the theater  I know a lot of my friends who are part of the theatrical scene in Pakistan and some of them are aspiring directors.  Today a Pakistani believes that if its own product will be upto the standard there is no way any other country can culturally invade us. Thanks to Humsafar – a massive achievement which made every Pakistani believe that our stuff is all quality.

'The Arrivals' is one of the most powerful and influential series of videos you’ll ever see on the internet telling about AntiChrist Movements, Children's mind control, people supporting this movement, Pharaoh's of today, important knowledge and today's condition relating to the incidents which have to occur in future according to Quran.
The message in the Arrivals is very clear. The aim of the series is to expose the Matrix that has been systematically engineered by the World elites. Facebook is Great

Of all the wonders that I see, Facebook is my mere choice.  One of the basic human needs after food and sex is socializing with others and Facebook is great platform that provides us the perfect opportunity to manage our social relationships with ease and comfort. It's a platform where you can express your feelings and share your views with the world. It's a virtual place which is the biggest source of entertainment in the world. Social media has become a mean of transparency in today's world.

Facebook is Great

An important question is, why did I feel the need to write this article? Well, there are a lot of people who say that Facebook is stupid, Facebook is evil or Facebook is a waste of time. People are calling such a thing a nuisance, which allows us to communicate throughout the world without boundaries or hindrances. We are revolting against such a thing that provides a platform for young as well as old business men to market themselves globally. Social media marketing has gained rapid popularity and Facebook is the most basic mean to market talent, products or services in today's world. Whether one is a musician, artist, merchant, a non-profit organization or a multi-national corporation, Facebook provides everyone to expand one's business.

In my opinion, calling Facebook a waste of time is a cliche or a sign of rebellious nature of our society. We can not work in a society by just retaliating with anything that tries to break down the old conventions and introduces novelty. We live in a world where logic defines everything. We mock on those who defy the simple logic that our brains present.

Facebook is a miracle that makes every person an extrovert and brings awareness among the society. Libyan people got their freedom from their monarch. A Libyan man started a revolution against his dictator on Facebook, which dis-emanated like fire and provoked the young Libyan men to wage a war against discrimination and monarchy. Facebook came out on top in Facebook vs. Gadafi war and that perhaps highlights the importance of Facebook in today's world affairs.

Moreover, Facebook allows us to communicate with others even when they are not online. It is also the biggest source of sharing media online. Not only that, it also comprises of various applications and games that makes it attractive and a source of entertainment for people. Facebook apps and Facebook games are also a mean of business expansion and direct interaction with consumers.

I do not understand in this point in time why do people still hold contempt and scorn for the magnificent wonder. And to think of it as nuisance is nothing more than an act of ignorance in an hour of bliss. In the light of preceding/aforementioned argument, it is a fair assessment to say Facebook is great and indeed a wonder of this world which has solved many problems of this world.

Please  let us know what are your views regarding the topic.

"Explore Pakistan" - A look at the Unseen

Explore Pakistan

Without any doubt Pakistan has stored so much beauty in it, we Pakistanis still go outside this country in search of Scenic beauty. We need to build the infrastructure all over again to promote these place and let people know that there is no need to spend so much money and going to other countries. Let me tell you, there hundreds of tourist destinations in Pakistan that have a celestial touch. The Northern Pakistan is ‘Heaven on Earth’, although this expression is often used by every other country nowadays, but it is actually true in case of Pakistan. We need to explore these places, add value to them, improve their infrastructure and make the people aware of all these locations through increased promotional activities.
There is a bundle of places which need to seen as Perfect Tourist Places and to be considered by our own public when searching for Scenic Beauty or recreational activities.

Rama- Astore

Rama valley is heavenly place located above Astore in Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. The valley is about 3300 meters (10800 feet) above sea level and thus is snow covered for 7-8 months of the year. In summer, it becomes lush green; conditions favored by local shepherds. From here one can trek to east side of the world's 8th highest mountain,‘Nanga Parbat’, also known as the Killer Mountain. The route to Rama is very dangerous especially for the people who do not have habit of travelling in these hilly places. But when you reach the actual place, you are actually mesmerized by its beauty. Then there is a Rama Lake located at a little distance from the valley. There you can relax, a very less populated place with very few tourists, there you can relax by indulging yourself in beauty away from the hustle and bustle of the cities. Rama astore is one of the most beautiful places in Pakistan to visit.

Naltar Lake- Gilgit

Naltar is a valley near Gilgit and Hunza in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. Naltar is 40 km (25 mi) from Gilgit and can be reached by jeeps. It has a PAF base. It has a naturally developed skiing track, Ski competition is held every year there with the help of PAF, people from all over the world come to see and participate in the competition. Naltar Lake is again a beautiful lake having four different shades of green, namely; aqua green, parrot green, dark green and dirty green. It’s a transparent lake which gives you your reflection. It’s a Must Visit place in Pakistan.

Khalti Lake- Gupis

Khalti Lake is located in a district named Gupis in Gilgit-Baltistan, on the way to Shandur from Gilgit. A proper metal road takes you there. It’s a huge and beautiful aqua green/ blue lake with beautiful mountains. You can have the time of your life there having the best food, as Trout is also available there; you can enjoy having a luxury meal there. The eye-catching view is one of  the most magnificent sceneries in Pakistan.

Pyala Lake – Jalkhad ( Naran)

Pyala Lake is an undeveloped Lake, but it has a lot of significance as it a Bowl shaped lake on the top of the mountain in the district of Jalkhad, on the way to Lulusar Lake from Naran. It needs to be developed so that people can see the beauty which God has created naturally. We get fascinated by the miracles outside our countries; places outside our country amuse us much more and we forget the significance of our very own Pakistan. I personally see Pyala lake as a natural wonder of the world.

With so many tourist places, The government besides all other problems in the country, also need to focus on the tourism side. The sector has a bright future but as it is ignored by most of us, we are hindering our own way to success and make Pakistanis ‘A proud nation’.

Nutrition

Young people may have most of their nutrition needs met while they are in school, but with childhood obesity growing rampantly; it's time to take a look at what they eat when they're not in school. Youth programs have a unique opportunity to influence kids' eating habits. Children and teens lead quite busy and stressed lives with their school workload, after-school activities and family responsibilities. They consequently may skip breakfast, eat from vending machines and consume more fast food. By providing them with healthy eating behaviors, youth programs can help kids learn how to fuel their boding some cases, the daily intake recommendations for some nutrients are higher for teens than adults. Youth programs can take great strides toward meeting their needs by ensuring the food they serve is rich with these nutrients. You'll also help them develop an appreciation for properly fueling their bodies. For example, the Institute of Medicine says teen’s ages 14 to 18 need more calcium than adults, approximately 1,300 mg daily. They also need more phosphorus, iron and magnesium, and girls that age need a little extra fiber and essential fatty acids. Supply them with portable, low-cost food and drinks like low-fat milk, cheese, yogurt, fortified orange juice and cereals, almonds and cashews. Overweight youth are more likely to become overweight adults than their healthy-weight peers, says the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Therefore, they are more at risk of metabolic illnesses like insulin resistance and diabetes, along with heart disease, stroke and osteoarthritis. One of the most life-giving habits you can offer your young people as a program leader is an understanding of portion control. Make activities out of it by offering prizes to those who can correctly identify how much of a plate various nutrients, such as meat, carbohydrates and vegetables, should occupy. Also offer them skills, such as asserting when they've had enough to eat, avoiding mindless eating such as while watching TV or engaged in other activities, and eating slowly.

ARTS AND CUTLURE IN PAKISTAN

Pakistan has one of the oldest and unique cultures inherited from the Indian sub- continent and Indus valley civilization which was established 5000 years ago. Also called the Indus Valley or Harappan civilization, Indus was the earliest known urban culture of the Indian subcontinent. The emphasis on the Islamic religion has brought about a strong romantic identification with Islamic culture in Pakistan.
Literature is one of the most famous art especially poetry and the credit for the fame of poetry goes to artists like allama iqbal and faiz ahmed faiz. These and few other artists used their art to promote Pakistan’s independence in 1947 as their work provided great motivation for muslim’s and stressed upon the need of a separate country for muslim’s because of cultural and religious differences although the nation’s government was still undecided. In the midst of this tense political uncertainty, writers questioned and critiqued Pakistan’s founding in stories and poems. Poetry is a highly respected art and profession in Pakistan due to sub-continents long affiliation with the Persian Empire.
In that era music, dance and theatre received less attention than poetry and literature but paintings and sculptures were making considerable progress as the way of expression by artists .After the independence Pakistani artists adopted modernism and change was on its way as Pakistan got more and more educated the progress was slow due to the stereotypical thinking but Pakistan got enriched and more educated with time as it got it economic freedom and a country to practice their own culture.
The 1960s brought a strong American cultural impact on Pakistani urban centers. Films and publications were shown, and media was used to promote to promote many things. Through art historians and visiting exhibitions, Pakistani artists received exposure to abstract style. Those educated in the English medium schools readily adopted western styles, valuing forward progress.
Pakistan is a country rich and diverse in all forms of art and culture. The country is home to numerous art galleries, museums, performing arts theaters, drama and dance studios, and film events. Although Lahore is depicted as the cultural capital, all major centers and many rural areas have cultural events and festivals throughout the year.
In this era Pakistan faces the biggest challenge of terrorism but arts and culture one of Pakistan’s biggest asset can be the remedy for this situation because culture in all aspect arts, religion, sports, education and especially youth can mould and prevent terrorist mentality and extremism.

ANDROON SHEHAR: Walled city of Lahore

Androon Shehar Lahore or Old Lahore is the heart of LahoreIts cultural property is in the form of forts, gateways, mosques, residential buildings, tombs and palaces. Walled city and the thirteen gates is another historical heritage we have. The gates are named after the places they are located in or after a significant building in their vicinity.  Old Lahore is facing plenty of problems to which the government of Pakistan has been greatly ignorant.  The problem of infrastructure in old Lahore is one of the major economic issues there.  People in the walled city have just adopted themselves to the way of life in old Lahore.
androon shehar lahore: delhi darwaza, dehli gate

Life in Androon Lahore is difficult and different compared to the life in new Lahore. The infrastructure facilities are not provided which is a major hindrance for the people there. Infrastructure facilities include proper sewerage system, roads, electricity, telephone lines, transportation and proper waste disposal. Infrastructure facilities like proper waste disposal and sewerage system are of little or no existence in the walled city. People residing in these areas are the only ones to suffer and they complain that more attention is being paid by the government to the people in the areas of Lahore such as, Defence, Gulberg, Cantt, Johar Town, etc.
lahore walled ciy androon shehr

In this modern time little or no work could be carried out without electricity. Pakistan has been suffering load shedding for the past 3 years. Cities like Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad suffer less load shedding compared to the other cities in Pakistan. The average amount of load shedding in Lahore is 8 to 10 hours in a day. In the walled city it is 14 to 16, this explains the difference. Electricity results as a major hindrance in their work.
People claimed that several issues affect their income out of which electricity and narrow roads play the most important role. Shops that are a little large in size use generators, which itself is not feasible because of the rising prices of petrol, and others use ups or work without electricity. No proper transportation facilities are there. Car parking is a major problem. People have to park their cars on main roads which again results in traffic jamsThere sales keep low because people avoid coming into the market without their vehicles. The sales vary every month due to which workers hired are not paid fixed salary. Many of the people even quit their business in search of jobs because of the loss they suffer and many start duel jobs.

A major infrastructural facility that abides many of us to enter the area is the proper sewerage system and waste disposal. No waste disposal facilities are thereAs the roads are narrow the waste is just thrown out of the house or in a nearby place that becomes a waste disposal area for many living there. The odor of the waste is unbearable.  Despite it being a business hub, Androon Shehr Lahore is despised of the modern luxuries of he world
Androon Lahore - Walled City of Lahore

Walled city is a part of Lahore and the technological advances should be made there too along with the advances in new Lahore. There should and must be no distinction.

MYSTERY OF THE UNIVERSE - BLACK HOLE

Mysterious stuff exists in our world and many scientists conduct innumerable researches to unlock the hidden truths and facts behind every deep-rooted mystery buried inside the universe. So does one of the major mystery of the universe exists, a black hole.  Some of us must have heard about a black hole or discussed about this in a conversation or maybe some of us are still unaware about it. Curiosity arose in every human being about the mystery behind these black holes and what actually happens when one gets a chance to encounter it.
Black hole is a region in a space where gravitational force exists intensely that no matter, substance or radiation can escape from it. It is extremely mass concentrated and hence it is considered to be inevitable for a nearby object to escape its gravitational pull.
There are many theories to this question to that how do black hole are actually formed and most highly appreciated theory answered to this question is that they are formed when a star lived its life and matures, then gets crushed by its own gravity, leaving behind a compact black hole.
Black holes are notion to form from stars or other massive objects when they outer in space reaches a certain level of gravity which reaches almost near to get explode. They collapse due to their own gravity and forms into an object whose density is infinite, i.e., its core, termed as singularity and its outer boundary as event horizon.
When a star collapses, it causes a supernova. [A supernova is a detonating star that blasts into space]
Due to its infinite density it is said to be a one way pathway, as once something goes in it, there is no way for it to come out. A black hole in space pulls each and every bit of a particle which passes its horizon and sucks it into a cosmic whirlpool of infinite density.

Black hole varies in sizes. Scientists believe that the smallest black hole can be of the size of an atom. Ranging from size of a mass of 20 times more than of a sun (called a stellar black hole), to extremely huge sizes, called supermassive black hole.
All these black holes exists in earth’s galaxy (milky ways) scientists had proved that in the center of the large milky ways, a supermassive black hole is present, namely Sagittarius A.
NASA is doing researches and studying black holes by using satellites and telescopes. Such space crafts turned out to be great help in figuring out more and more about black holes.
CERN – European organization for nuclear research also played a great role in discovering and providing us knowledge about the Black hole. One of the world’s largest centre for scientific researches and experiments. The main business of it is to study the fundamental physics and finding ways to know what universe is made of and how it works. CERN did the research over that the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) involved in the formation of a black hole. CERN also conducted CMS experiment for microscopic black hole signatures at the LHC produced in high-energy collisions.

Latest news had been declared that a black hole can hold more water than the 100 trillion oceans of our earth.
