Mysterious stuff exists in our world and many scientists conduct innumerable researches to unlock the hidden truths and facts behind every deep-rooted mystery buried inside the universe. So does one of the major mystery of the universe exists, a black hole. Some of us must have heard about a black hole or discussed about this in a conversation or maybe some of us are still unaware about it. Curiosity arose in every human being about the mystery behind these black holes and what actually happens when one gets a chance to encounter it.
Black hole is a region in a space where gravitational force exists intensely that no matter, substance or radiation can escape from it. It is extremely mass concentrated and hence it is considered to be inevitable for a nearby object to escape its gravitational pull.
There are many theories to this question to that how do black hole are actually formed and most highly appreciated theory answered to this question is that they are formed when a star lived its life and matures, then gets crushed by its own gravity, leaving behind a compact black hole.
Black holes are notion to form from stars or other massive objects when they outer in space reaches a certain level of gravity which reaches almost near to get explode. They collapse due to their own gravity and forms into an object whose density is infinite, i.e., its core, termed as singularity and its outer boundary as event horizon.
When a star collapses, it causes a supernova. [A supernova is a detonating star that blasts into space]
Due to its infinite density it is said to be a one way pathway, as once something goes in it, there is no way for it to come out. A black hole in space pulls each and every bit of a particle which passes its horizon and sucks it into a cosmic whirlpool of infinite density.
Black hole varies in sizes. Scientists believe that the smallest black hole can be of the size of an atom. Ranging from size of a mass of 20 times more than of a sun (called a stellar black hole), to extremely huge sizes, called supermassive black hole.
All these black holes exists in earth’s galaxy (milky ways) scientists had proved that in the center of the large milky ways, a supermassive black hole is present, namely Sagittarius A.
NASA is doing researches and studying black holes by using satellites and telescopes. Such space crafts turned out to be great help in figuring out more and more about black holes.
CERN – European organization for nuclear research also played a great role in discovering and providing us knowledge about the Black hole. One of the world’s largest centre for scientific researches and experiments. The main business of it is to study the fundamental physics and finding ways to know what universe is made of and how it works. CERN did the research over that the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) involved in the formation of a black hole. CERN also conducted CMS experiment for microscopic black hole signatures at the LHC produced in high-energy collisions.
Latest news had been declared that a black hole can hold more water than the 100 trillion oceans of our earth.
